CEC/NPT

This project is a dramatically scaled-up application of the methodology developed in the CEC-NPT- GRIDfast SVP Project described previously, with specified additional R&D questions. In the project, the DER resource portfolio was expanded to include deployment of distributed storage devices. GRIDiant was tasked to examine approaches to GRIDfast to determine and measure system reliability improvements resulting from DER additions. The SCE T&D system grid is more than an order of magnitude larger than the SVP grid, comprising approximately 125,000 buses, and significantly more complex. The T&D grid model accordingly is much larger and far more detailed. GRIDfast is able to run the model on high-end PCs in approximately thirty seconds per run.
